Funeral services for Otis Leroy , 76, who died Sunday morning at his home, 592 Otis Boulevard, after a long illness, were scheduled this afternoon at 5 at the First Baptist Church. The Revs. Norman Shands and W.W. Lancaster officiated. Burial was in Greenlawn memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were to be Laurens Walker. L.A. Grier, Robert M. Carlisle,, Broadus Littlejohn, George Patterson, Vernon Earle, Thomas Whiteside and James D. Cobb, Jr. Mr. Pace was born Jan. 22, 1876, at Hendersonville, NC. He was the eldest son of the late Judge Columbus Mills Pace and Leona Allen Pace. Mr. Pace received his early education through community schools and Oak Ridge Military Academy. He was a graduate of old Judson College. He taught school at Fletcher, NC, until he became secretary to Rep. H.G. Ewart of his congressional district.. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Pace entered the postal service on coming to Spartanburg at the turn of the century. He was retired under civil service regulations in Febuary of 1941. Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Amanda Blackwood Pace; a daughter, Mrs. Catherine P. Hamrick of Gaffney; a son, Judge Charles M. Pace of Spartanburg; two sisters, Mrs. O.E. Bass of Hendersonville and Mrs. A.H. Hawkins of Riverside, CA, and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
