Lumber "baron" & banker: Among his real estate was about 300,000 acres of pine land in the South, chiefly in Mississippi.

He founded the towns of Baldwin, Evart, & Hersey in Michigan.

His parents were Abiel D. Blodgett & Susan Richmond.

On September 9, 1859 in Woodstock, Illinois, he married Jennie S. Wood (AKA: Jane) (Died in 1890).

On June 3, 1893 he married his second wife, Daisy A. Peck, of Atlanta. She was the daughter of Prof. William Henry Peck, an author.

He was the grand-father of Katherine Cumnock Blodgett ( Died in 1980 ), who married Morris Hadley, of Yale University (Skull & Bones) & the famous law firm "Milbank, Tweed, Hadley, & McCloy". Morris died in 1979.

Delos is buried in the same plot as his first wife, listed as Jane Wood Blodgett.
