On June 5, 1983, Trudy married Thomas Storey. They later divorced. They had two sons.
She passed away at her home on the 24000 block of Italian Bar Road in Columbia on April 3, 2003, in a murder-suicide incident. Her boyfriend, Robert Martin Lowry, was the other victim. They were found by Trudy's twin sister who called 911.
Her father, Paul Rodman Calderaro, is buried next to her.
