When you live life, some people pull out all of the stops. Pat served in the military during te border campaign of 1916. He was a flying officer for the signal corps during WWI. He received a commision in the Marine Corps during WWII also servered in Korea and was discharged at the rank of Major.
In addition Pat was a professional baseball player for four seasons in the minor leagues as a pitcher, professional football player as a punter for the 1923 Chicago Bears, and movie star appearing in over 200 films, Sergeant York and Pride of the Yankess. After his playing days he added to his talents as a sucessful music publisher working for Desylva, Brown and Henderson in New York.
