Sam P. Jones, 80 years old of 409 Vine Street, died Wednesday, November 20, 1968 in a local nursing home. A native of Cherry Valley, Arkansas, he was born January 23, 1888 to John and Fanny Jones. He was a member of the Friendly Pentecostal Church of God and a retired farmer.

Survivors are his wife Cloe; four sons; two daughters, Frances and Audry; one brother; 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ocker Memorial chapel. Paul Dougan, pastor of Friendly Pentecostal church was the officiating minister. Burial was in Gracelawn Cemetery.

Grandson served as casket bearers, they were, John Jr, Randy, Carl, Bobby, Arthur and Don.
