Beverly was born to Peter and Gertrude Nielsen in Dawson Minnesota.
Beverly graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls SD. She married Swen (Ed) Barkeus on June 5, 1948 and they lived in St Paul,MN. Beverly moved to Grand Junction in 1998. Beverly was a great Mom, a devoted Grandmother, and proud Great-Grandmother. She was a talented artist and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. Beverly was a retired school teacher and for many years was Director of Christian Education at Jehovah Lutheran Church, St Paul, MN. Most recently she was employed at Mesa County Library.
Beverly was preceded in death by husband Swen (Ed); sisters Jean Jenson and Glenice Olsen.
Survivors include her daughters Gayle Reid of Silverthorne and Catherine Evans of Grand Junction; grandchildren Traverse and Dillon Reid, Adam, Timothy, and Molly Evans; great-granchildren Jordan and Sydney Reid. Also survived by brothers-in-law Leroy Jenson, Grand Junction, and Jack Olsen of Bradenton, Florida; many cousins and dear friends.
Beverly's faith was strong and she now is rejoicing in the company of God and the angels.
