Nat Clopton Passes Away: Funeral Today

One of Escambia County's Best Known Citizens will be Laid to Rest This Afternoon at the Clopton Cemetery.

Nat Clopton, one of Escambia county's best known and most highly esteemed residents, died yesterday afternoon at 8 o'clock at the family home, 1010 West Belmont street.

The funeral will take place this afternoon, the cortege leaving the residence at 1 o'clock. Interment will be made at the Clopton cemetery, near Brent, this county, Rev. Mr. Debardiadan, assisted by Rev. M. H. Holt, of the First Methodist church, Pensacola, officiating.

The deceased is survived ty three brothers, Henry C. Clopton, a member of the legislature, A. G. Clopton and Sydney Clopton; also by a wife and five children. Nat Clopton was a native of Greenville, Ala. He was 52 years of age and had resided here since 1883.

The pallbearers for the funeral will be: Willie Henderson, L. R. O'Neal, W. S. Morgan, John A. Jones, W. H. Appenborn and J. C. Van Pelt.
