She was born Aug. 14, 1921, in Wood County, a daughter of the late Clay and Mae Sullivan Watkins, Sr.
Mary had attended the Camden Avenue church of Christ, Mineral Wells church of Christ, and Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. She had worked for the American Viscose and the Wirt County Board of Education, and was a homemaker. She also enjoyed doing latchhook.
She is survived by two sons, Lawrence "Larry" (Mary) Wigal Jr. of Mineral Wells, and William L. "Bill" (Sharon) Wigal of Palestine; her grandchildren, Lori Tanner, Lisa (James) Brodie, Todd (Jennifer) Wigal, and William R. (Natalie) Wigal; seven great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Bob Wigal; and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Wigal Sr.; one infant daughter, Loretta Wigal; two brothers, Clay Watkins Jr. and George Watkins; and two sisters, Lula Cline and Betty Wigal.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg, with her son, Evangelist Larry Wigal Jr. officiating and burial following at the Limestone Cemetery, Rockport. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
