Darryl J. Owen, 62, of Albion died at 10:26 am Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Owen was a longtime dairy farmer and painter. He had lived in the area most of his life.
He was very active in the draft horse associations in Noble and DeKalb counties. He loved horses and fishing.
Mr. Owen was born Feb. 17, 1943, in Garrett to Homer and Sarah (Gaff) Owen. On Oct. 1, 1960, in Albion, he married Barbara S. Osborne. She survives.
Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Del and Ruth Owen of Albion; four daughters and three son-in-laws, Laramie and Gary Ramey, Teresa and Brad Ebey, and Sarah and Brad Dreibelbis, all of Albion, and Brandy Owen and her fiance, Donny Griffith of Syracuse; three sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce and Richard Caskey of Ligonier, Kay and Wilber Freeman of Marion and Janice and Dale Geiger of Columbia City; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Jane Owen of Albion and Dennis and Wanda Owen of Lafayette; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Wednesday at Brazzell Funeral Home, Albion North Ridge Chapel, with Rev. Ben Archer officiating. Burial was in Merriam Christian Chapel in Merriam.
Memorials are to the Noble or DeKalb draft horse associations.
