May 14, 1890 he was married to Sophia A Huxtable who with three sons and four daughters survive him two sons having died in infancy.
In the early years of manhood he gave his life to Christ, was baptized and united with Elm Creek Church. After faithful service there for five years he bought his letter to the Blue Rapids Baptist Church of which he was a most earnest and enthusiastic supporter, consecrating his all to his Master's service every day of his life.
He was called up higher at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon March 1st after five weeks of severe illness – aged 43 years and months.
Besides his wife and children he leaves a sorrowing mother, one sister and six brothers, with a host of other relatives and friends, to grieve over the loss of one who was always to be depended on for a ready smile, a word of cheer and an act of kindness whenever they were needed.
Funeral services will be held at the Baptist Church this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
In the death of Thomas Hunt Blue Rapids City Township loses one of its best men – a man who-by industry and thrift had proven a very successful farmer and stockman and what is more he was a man who was known as absolutely square in all his dealings. He was a tireless worker, but not alone for himself, for he devoted a great deal of his time and means for the good of others. His death will prove a great loss to the Baptist Church of which for years he has been one of the main stays and from all walks of life in our city the expression of sorrow is universal that a man so useful should be taken away in the prime of life.
