Our beautiful, loving mom and the best grandma in the world joined her family in heaven early Tuesday morning, May 6, 2008.

Karen Branstetter Pierce was the last surviving child of Paul and Dorothy Branstetter. Karen was born July 23, 1943, and grew up in Laurel with her three brothers, Jim, Danny and Louie, and her sister Donna.

Karen was a talented artist who enjoyed crocheting, reading and loved her candy. Grandma treasured kicking butt in late-night Nintendo challenges and snacking on homemade goodies. She was always excited about her next poker night in Laurel and taking "the boys" money in home games. With spring approaching, mushroom hunting was her passion. These legacies will live on through all of us, along with her acceptance, generous heart and strong will.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Jamie, Lisa, Susan and her favorite daughter, Barb; grandchildren Zeth (Dana), Stasha, Sarah and Saige; great-grandchildren Quincy and Drace. Karen has many surviving relatives who love her very much.

Private graveside service will be held at Columbus Cemetery.
