BRENDA LEE (PAYEA) PROVOST BURLINGTON — Brenda L. Provost, 49, passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, in Fletcher Allen Health Care. She was born in Burlington on Feb. 8, 1957, the daughter of Joseph A. Sr. and Theresa A. (Myers) Payea. Brenda enjoyed her seven grandchildren, hanging out, watching them grow. She had many special talents from baking a birthday cake to mending clothes to creating beautiful wedding cakes. She put lots of love and care into her many projects, especially the white whipped snow she placed on her Christmas tree year after year. Brenda never told anyone "no." She always found the time to help or listen to her many friends and large family. She is already very missed! She leaves her husband of 31 years, Dale V. Provost of Colchester; her five children and spouses: Shawn Provost and Cindy Thompson of Colchester, Christopher and Falinda Provost of Lewiston, Maine, Matthew Provost and Nikki Stevens of Essex Junction, and Nathan and Timothy Provost, both of Colchester. She was the beloved "Mimi" of her grandchildren: Alexis, Bridgette, Colby, Brandon, Hannah, Claudia and Skylar. She also leaves her parents, Joseph Sr. and Theresa Payea of Williston, her brothers and their wives, Steve and Joanne Payea of Delray Beach, Fla., Joseph Jr. and Laurie Payea of Macungie, Pa., Greg and Karen Payea of Hinesburg, Jim and Wendy Payea of Milton, John and Denise Payea of Essex, Brian and Jenna Payea of Maine and Bruce Payea of Henniker, N.H. , her sister Jeannie Payea of Essex Junction, her mother-inlaw, Laura Provost of Highgate; her brothers-in-law and wives: Donald and Mary Provost of Burlington, Tod and Sharon Provost of Fairfax, her sister-in-law, Tina and husband, Mike Clodgo of Highgate; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, numerous cousins and many special friends. She was predeceased by her special "Nana," Mary Alice Chandler, her father-in-law, Donald Provost and her close friend, Doreen Billings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Holy Cross Church in Malletts Bay with interment following in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting hours are today from 4 to 8 p.m. in Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Home, 97 Elmwood Ave.
