Vernon Baggenstoss Sr, age 70 who died Wednesday, April 20, at the Hennepin County Medical Center.

Vernon was born in Albany to Vernon V and Barbara (Terres) Baggenstoss.

Vernon served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Sharon Belford Callahan in 1985. She later died in 1990. Vernon was a painting contractor, residing in Minneapolis, and moved to Albany in 1995. Vernon was Little All-American Basketball Player for two years at St Cloud State University and Hall of Fame Member, and Albany HS Walk of Fame Member.

Vernon is survived by his special friend, Alice Cigelske, Albany; children, Cheryl (Dan) Glanz, St. Francis; Vernon, Jr. (Melissa), Grove City; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer, Bethany, David, Stephan, Halyn, Alayna, and siblings, John "Jack" (Terry), Albany; and Jean Marie (Bob) Kellerman, ND; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Mary Elizabeth Donkers.
