Jean Minkin Hurwitz, 90, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, passed away at Village Shalom on Wednesday, May 7, 2008. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 9, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Ave. Burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Village Shalom, Kansas City Hospice or in her memory with a charity of your choice. Mrs. Hurwitz was a member of The Temple, Congregation B'nai Jehudah. She was also a member of her beloved Nautilus Society and a longtime member of Meadowbrook Golf & Country Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Minkin, husband Jerry Hurwitz and two brothers, Barney and Nate Goldberg. Mrs. Hurwitz is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Jerry Freidberg; Susan and Bill Berk; sister-in- law: Joan Goldberg; grandchildren: Melinda and Jeff Gray; Scott Freidberg; Danielle and Steve Bordman; Halli and Ken Romain. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a stepdaughter and her husband, Robin and Bill Carr, and many loving nieces and nephews.
