James Tipton Eads was born May 10, 1874 in Claiborne County, Tennessee to Harvey Lafayette Eads and Barbrey A. Fugate. James stood 5ft. 10in. tall, had blue eyes, brown hair and a light complexion.

He was married to Julia McGill in about 1894. They had two daughters, Myrtle E. and Ollie F. James was a peace officer in McKinney, Collin County, Texas. He had also been a farmer in Collin County. James enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a REGULAR RANGER on May 9, 1921 rheu August 31, 1921, as a private in Co. B.

He was discharged. In 1930, he was a bank collector in McKinney. James Tipton Eads died December 10, 1943 in Fortworth, Tarrant County, Texas. (by Nancy E. Brown)
