Born in Patrick County, Va., he was a member of First Wesleyan Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served with the 10th Mountain Calvary and received the Bronze Star. He was employed with G.B. Green and Son.
Survivors include one son, Ralph Everette Belton of Eden; one daughter, Linda Belton Hopper of Eden; and four grandchildren.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Linda B. Hopper, 512 Cedar St. in Eden.
The family suggests memorials be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, N.C. 28215.
