Olympic Games Gold Medalist Athlete. A native of Poland, he was a fencer and two-time gold medalist in the individual and team foil competitions during the 1972 Summer Olympic Games in Munich, Germany. His other notable career achievements include silver medal winner for team foil during the 1964 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, and bronze medal winner for team foil during the 1968 Summer Olympic Games in Mexico City, Mexico. He later resided in New York City, New York and would become an American citizen. He died from lung cancer.
