Mazo Hall Sigmon
Taylorsville, N.C. - Mazo Hall Sigmon, 84, of Taylorsville, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 29, 1924, to Jordan Wesley Hall and Ethel Dingler Hall Weaver in Alexander County.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Cecil James Sigmon; two daughters, Ruth Bowman and Betty Little; one son-in-law, Jerry Harrington; one granddaughter, Geri Lynn Harrington; three brothers, George, Burl and Melvin "Buck" Hall; and one stepsister, Leathia Eckerd.
Mazo was an active member of Mount Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday school class, Golden Chain of Bethlehem and United Methodist Women. Over her employment years, she worked at Hickory and Catawba Paper Box companies and Hickory Daily Record.
Loved ones left to cherish her memory include four daughters, Peggy Fox and husband, Jerry Ray, of Bethlehem, and Judy Kerley and husband, Gary, Martha Harrington and Cecilia Douglas and husband, Steve, all of Taylorsville; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Hall of Bethlehem; one sister, Dorothy Miller of Hickory; her special caregiver, Michell Moretz of Taylorsville; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight, Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral hour. The Revs. Tony Bowman and Olin Icenhour will officiate.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chap Harrington, Scott Bowman, Eric May, Chris Harrington, Jason Douglas, Jordan Bowman and Landon Beard.
