Husband of Wight Fulton Boggs.
Father of Ashley Boggs Williams, Lauren Boggs McHugh, Samantha Boggs Dean, Alexander Edward Boggs and John Fulton Boggs.
Brother of Mary Ellen Smith, Richard Boggs and Robert Earle Boggs
Born in Wynne, Ark. He graduated from Central High School and the University of Memphis. He was CEO of the seven-restaurant Huey's chain and a partner in the Half Shell Restaurants, Tsunami, Folks Folly and the Prime Cut Shoppe in Memphis. He was always ready to assist a new restaurant owner. In turn, he shared in their successes. A former Memphis Restaurant Association president and last year's recipient of its Civic and Community Leadership Award, his civic contributions were as important as his business successes. One of his favorites was the Memphis Zoo, where he helped establish Zoo Rendezvous. He joined Huey's as manager and a bartender in 1975, leaving the T.G.I. Friday's corporation, where he opened new restaurants becoming a partner after two years. He reminded everyone to always smile, give good service, to always look for ways to do things better. He also played drums in several area bands, including Tommy Burk and the Counts and the Box Tops. He was also with Flash and the Board of Directors, which opened for Paul Revere and the Raiders.
