They first settled in the town of Jordan, where they lived for some time and later lived in Wiota and Chicago for short periods, but she has been a resident of the village of Argyle for more than half a century. Her husband died thirty-five years ago, leaving her with a large family.
They were the parents of thirteen children, seven of whom are still living. They are Mrs. Batten of Chicago, Hannah of Rockford, Petrina and Lena living at home, Mrs. Sarah Hilton of Beloit, Christene a Chicago teacher, and Mrs. Inger Thompson of Woodford. Her son, Frederick O. Fenne died at Rockford only a few weeks ago. An infant son died in Norway, another in Jordan, Peter Adolph in Argyle many years ago, and Mrs. Caroline Solomon and Anna in more recent years, the latter two being well remembered by many of our readers.
She had been an invalid for six years, but had been a patient sufferer, always resigned to what must be. She was a noble Chrisitan woman and was permitted to enjoy the love, ministrations and fidelity of her family far beyond the allotted time of mankind.
The funeral will be held at the Lutheran church this (Friday) afternoon, at 2:30, conducted by Rev. P.W. Eriksen. The burial will take place at Woodlawn cemetery.
