Myrna Young passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Myrna was born in Van Nuys, CA to James and Carol Warren. In 1947, her, mother, brother and she moved to Madera to be close to her mothers family. Myrna attended Madera schools, being a member of the first graduating class at Thomas Jefferson Junior High School and a member of the class of 1958 from Madera High School. After graduation, she attended Fresno State College and 4C's College. In 1960 she began working for Madera County in the Probation Department. In 1961, she married James Young with whom she had three children. She was involved in her childrens activities, serving as room mother, Bobby Sox President, and PTA Board Member. She was a member of the Madera United Methodist Church for over 50 years where she served on several committees and sang in the choir for many years.

In 1983, she retired from Madera County and started her own business, Myrna's Typing Service. She transcribed court transcripts for the Madera County Court Reporters and did other typing jobs for various community members and service organizations. In 1985, she also began a child care business, becoming Mau Mau to a host of children.

Myrna is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, James of Madera, her children Dianna Young and Michael Young, of Madera, Amy Pennington and her husband Jim of Bakersfield, step-daughter Judy Plata and husband Abe of Fresno. She leaves her two brothers, Marshall Warren and wife Joan, and Doug Warren and wife Linda all of Apple Valley, her step-father Donald Irwin of Madera and four grandchildren Austin Pennington of San Luis Obispo, David Pennington of Bakersfield, Katie and Marco Plata of Fresno. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

A memorial service was held at the Madera United Methodist Church, Madera, CA under the direction of Jay Chapel.
