Ruby Hickox Ballard, 65 (b. c1915), of Ocala, FL died late Friday night (1975) in an accident in Ocala as she was returning home following a downtown shopping trip. Her death brings personal sorrow to a host of relatives and friends throughout this and other sections.

A native of Wayne, now Brantley County, Mrs. Ballard was the daughter of the late David Cann Hickox and Dora Satilla Knox Hickox. She received her education in the public school of her native county and had resided in Ocala, FL for the past 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, Joe K. Ballard of Ocala, FL; one son, Kenneth Ballard, also of Ocala; five sisters, Bertie Lee Strickland (husband Allen) and Velma Chilson, both of Waverly, Lorena Goodbread (husband H. S.) of Brunswick, Ethel Bryant (husband Alton) of Eastman, and Lucille Weddingcamp (husband A.V.) of Midway; two brothers, Dewey Hickox of Nahunta and Virgil Hickox of Brunswick; also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services wee held Monday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the Hiers Funeral Home in Ocala with interment following in Belle View, FL.

The family has the sympathy of their many friends in their bereavement.
