David was born in Cumberland, Md., and at the time of his passing was living in Fishertown, Pa.

He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a member of the V.F.W. He was also a member of Bible Gospel Church, Hyndman.

He worked at the Glen Savage Ranch, and he was also a deputy sheriff with the Bedford County Sheriff's Department.

He was the son of the late Frank H. and Alverta N. (Harden) Schilling. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carol L. (Coates) Schilling; a stepson, Richard McGough; and a sister, Lillian Albright.

He is survived by his companion, Nancy; three daughters; a stepson; three sisters; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
