The funeral for Mrs, Reinhold Benker, Davenport, was Friday at 2 p.m., from St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Davenport.
Mrs. Benker died Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the Thayer County
Hospital, Hebron, at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 19 days of age.
Katherine Alvina Christine Benker, the daughter of
Edward Ferdinand and Margareta Tamme, was born at Madison;
Neb., March 31, 1904.
She was baptized May 1,1904, at Madison by Pastor E,
Denninger and confirmed March 24, 1918, by Pastor
William Choleher at Deshler.
She attended Parochial school in Deshler.
Feb. 26, 1930, she was united in marriage to Reinhold Benker at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Deshler. One son was born to this marriage.
During her younger years, she lived in Madison, Chester
and Deshler. The past 48 years she had made her home in
Davenport.
Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Reinhold; son, Kenneth Benker, Davenport; four sisters, Anna Deuel, Mrs. Elvin Drohman (Erna) and Marie Secrest, Davenport, and
Mrs. Walter Hillman (Lydia), Deshler; five grandchildren;
and eight great-grandchildren.
Pastor Mark W. Demel officiated and burial was In St.
Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Davenport. The funeral
arrangements were by the Urbauer Funeral Home of
Davenport.
