Fern Alexander, 95, of Fairmount, passed away at 11:11 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
She was born June 13, 1912, south of Sidell to Freddie and Myrtie Turner Brooks McNees. She married William D. Alexander in Indiana March 2, 1931. He passed away Sept. 2, 1978. She was also preceded by an infant daughter and one son, Bill Alexander.
Survivors include three sons, Clifford (Genie) Alexander, Freddie (Karen) Alexander and James (Shirley) Alexander; one daughter, Betty (Jim) Salladay; one daughter-in-law, Pat Alexander; two sisters, Lorena (Rev. Charles) Pearman and Bonnie Carter; 16 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
