Lloyd E. Abbott, 82, of 3024 Co. Rd. 23, Burgoon, died at 7:14 p.m., Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Stine Hospice in Sandusky. Lloyd was born October 30, 1925, in Helena, OH, to the late Ervin and Cora (Ladderman) Abbott. Survivors include his brothers, Dale Abbott of Castalia, and Leroy Abbott of Fremont, and a friend, Henry Burch of Burgoon.
Lloyd was a lifelong farmer and a United States Marine Veteran serving during WWII. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Oral Abbott, R.J. Abbott, Russell Abbott and a sister, Oleta Nitachke. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home in Bettsville with Pastor Henry Burch officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 12:30-1:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Tuesday, at the Gibsonburg West Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
