Thelma Gillilan, 82, died Friday at Perkins Pavillion, Hast-
ings. The daughter of Einer and Senna (Petersen) Martens, she
was born Feb. 6,1913, on a farm near Oak.

Oct. 14,1937, she married Marion Gillilan at Benedict.
They lived in Hardy until moving to Hastings in 1964. She
worked at Bixby's Grocery, Hardy, and Felt's Grocery, Supe-
rior and was active in Girl Scouts and civic affairs.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil,
Women of the E.L.C.A. and the Double Dozen Extension
Club.

Survivors include her husband, and one daughter, Mrs.
Elwood Hipple (Cheryl), Bassett.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Lorene Rhoads, and a
brother, Irvin Martens.

Services were Tuesday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church,
Glenvil.
Burial was in the Hardy Cemetery, The Rev. Timothy
Wiggins officiated.
