She was born on October 1, 1922 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Harlan G. and Edith (Love) Reece. Doris was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Winchester. She was an experienced seamstress and enjoyed working with her flowers and yard.
Doris is survived by her four daughters, Winifred (James) Wallace of Winchester,
Pauline (Donald) Moeller of Versailles, IN, Rhonda Baldwin of Winchester, and
Sheryl Hernly of Port Charlotte, FL; her three sons, Philip (Patty) Hernly of Challis, ID, Paul (Diana) Hernly of Mooresville, IN, and Frank (Jude) Hernly of Mooresville, IN; 16 grandchildren, Sheila Kaufman, Jennifer Mitchem, Mark Moeller, Jeffrey Hollaway, Marcilynn Keys, Kellie Callaway, Kristie Bennet, Jason Hernly, Vincent Hernly, Dawn Hernly, Jeremy Jones, Braidy Jones, Joshua Hernly, Lucretia Hernly, Kathline Cruz, Galen Schultz; 21 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson Paul Hernly; three brothers, Ralph Reece, Lloyd Reece, and Ivan Reece; and five sisters, Christine Thornburg, Thelma Miller, Reba Thornburg, Iris Bullen, and Alice Stephen.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 403 S. Main St., Winchester, IN 47394 with Pastor Danny Hines officiating. There will be no calling hours.
Memorials can be made to the Church of the Nazarene, with envelopes available at the church.
