Duane J. "Duke" Van Erem, 69, of 109 E Third St., Apt. 210, died Wednesday, July 8, at Allen Memorial Hospital of natural causes.
He was born Nov 21, 1928, in Waterloo, son of Louis and Sarah Coughlin Van Erem.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps for 15 years.
He worked for Con- struction Machinery Co. for 10 years and Weisman Steele, retiring in 1978.

Survived by: three sisters, Frances Wahl, Myrtle Schafer and Pearl Ertle, all of Waterloo; and a brother, William of Chicago.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Robert; and two sisters, Inez DuCharme and Virginia Paredes.

Memorial services: p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home, with burial after cremation in Garden of Memories.
Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
