Mr. John Franklin Buck, 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 21, 2018.
The funeral service will be held in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Vanceboro at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 25. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial Park in Greenville.
Mr. Buck was born and raised in the Vanceboro community. A graduate of Farm Life High School, he retired from Fluor Daniels Construction Company as a Construction Manager. A founding member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Vanceboro, where he held many responsibilities including, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and choir member. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and most especially, growing and caring for his garden, from which he shared of his fruits with many family and friends. He was a very special man that loved his family above all except for his devotion to his savior. His love of people was evident in the way he unselfishly would help those in need. He was also happy when friends and family would gather to eat his wonderful cooking.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Cayton Buck; daughter, Stephanie Moore; parents, George W. and Annie G. Buck; brothers, Frank S. Buck, Johnnie Wilbert Buck, George Buck, Jr., and Loyd Harold Buck; and sisters, Mildred Gray Clegg and Vivian Lowe.
