Jan. 2, 1936, The St. Clair Times: Thomas Jefferson Jones, 74, pioneer resident of St. Clair County, passed away last Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. Pearson, in Springville, of a long illness.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Liberty Church with the Rev. R. R. Brasher and the Rev. R. E. Tyler officiating, and Willingham directing.
Surviving are five daughters: Mrs. Pearson, Mrs. James Burroughs, Mrs. T. M. Campbell, Mrs. Walter Grendall and Mrs. Cecil Allen; two sons, T. O. Jones and H. V. Jones; four brothers, A. D. Jones, A. R. Jones, R. M. Jones and W. J. Jones, and one sister.

Jan. 2, 1936, The Pell City News: J. T. Jones, 74, was buried last Saturday at the Liberty Church in Odenville. Mr. Jones, one of the oldest residents in St. Clair County, passed away after an illness of nearly a year.
Rev. R. R. Brasher and Brother Tyler officiated at the funeral services. J. H. Willingham was in charge of the burial.
Mr. Jones is survived by 5 daughters: Mrs. Cecil Allen, Pell City; Mrs. James Burroughs, Odenville; Mrs. T. M. Campbell, Odenville; Mrs. Marcus Pearson, Springville; and Mrs. Walter Grindle, Selma; 2 sons, T. O. Jones, Birmingham; and H. V. Jones, Washington.
