Otto L. Bell, 89, of El Paso, a retired Air Force base employee, died at 8:10 a.m. yesterday (Feb. 25, 1992) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso, the Rev. Keith Martin officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, El Paso. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the memorial home.

Mr. Bell was born Nov. 30, 1902, at Daytonville, Iowa, a son of Joseph and Ida Whetstine Bell. He married Katherine Darby Feb. 1, 1921, at Sigourney, Iowa. She died June 12, 1972.

Survivors include one daughter, Opal Baker, El Paso; one brother, Donald Bell, Washington, Iowa; two sisters, Edna Tedford and Lillian Tindall, both of Washington, Iowa; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

One son and three brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Bell retired after 21 years as a civilian employee of Otis Air Force Base, Buzzards Bay, Mass.

He was a member of the El Paso Christian Church and a former member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
