Former resident dies at Ayrshire
Herman C Skogstrom 57 of Ayrshire a former resident of the Laurens community died Thursday after suffering a heart attack.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Ayrshire with the Rev R C Jerrell officiating. Pallbearers were Charles Lewis, Bruce Rouse, Wilber Heiman, Dale Loomis, Peter Kirschbaum Jr and Wilford Smith. Burial was in Silver Lake Cemetery at Ayrshire, with Hitchcock Funeral Home of Laurens in charge.
Herman Carl Skogstrom son of Carl and Clara Gulbranson Skogstrom was born Apirl 24 1907 in the Laurens community He attended country school two miles west and one mile south of Laurens until the family moved away when he was about 13 years of age.
He is survived by his mother, who lives at Ayrshire; one brother Hilmer A Skogstrom of Ayrshire and five sisters, Mrs Wilbur Book of Fort Dodge Mrs Lawrence Runneberg of Laurens Mrs Alice Reynolds of Ayrshire Mrs Lester Larson of Dunnell, Minn and Mrs Don Schuler of San Jose Calif.
