FAIRMONT — Memorial services for Lucille T. Larson, 94, of Fairmont will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2007, at Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fairmont with burial at a later date in the Laurens Cemetery in Laurens, Iowa. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont and one hour prior to the service at the church. Lucille went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, November 28, 2007, at Lutz Wing in Fairmont, Minn.

Lucille Theresa Botts was born on October 16, 1913, in Laurens, Iowa, the daughter of Homer J. Botts and Hilga (Skogstrom) Botts.

She worked at the Laurens Post Office as Post Office Clerk from 1934 to 1942. Lucille was united in marriage to Glen R. Larson on June 16, 1939, in Laurens, Iowa. They lived in Laurens from 1939 until 1941. During WWII they resided in Moline, Ill., until 1945 when they returned to Laurens. They moved to Minneapolis, Minn., in 1951, LaCrosse, Wis., in 1959, and later to Des Moines, Iowa, in 1967. After the death of her husband, Lucille moved to Fairmont, Minn., in 1996, where she resided until her death.

Lucille was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church in Laurens, Iowa, Minneapolis, Minn., and Des Moines, Iowa. After moving to Fairmont, she attended the Bethel Evangelical Free Church where she was a member of the Prime Timers, Bereans ABF, and White Cross. She was know as the "Hat Lady" for her wearing of various hats to church services. Her hobbies were baking all types of cookies and pies. Her specialty was sugar cookies and strawberry rhubarb pie.

Survivors include one son, Robert Larson and wife Sharon of Fairmont, Minn.; one daughter, Susann (Larson) Nicol and her husband Robert of Oakland, Calif.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Glen; two brothers, Lowell and Dale Botts, and one sister, Marjorie (Botts) Hoff.
