According to Ray Coolidge Rhodes (from "Blocks from Whence the Chips Came", privately published in 1998, page 35) Frederick "was born in Pennsylvania and came to Virginia with his father. He first lived near Broadway, and later, on a 500 acre farm purchased about six miles south of Harrisonburg, Virginia. He was a minister in the Mennonite Church" where both he and his wife were members. "After their death, their son, John became the owner of the farm that his father had owned. Before John's death, he divided up the farm among his children, and most of the farms still belong to some of the heirs." --Robert Rader
