***Bio from Family Information***

Son of Abraham Marlett (1875-1862) and Samantha Unknown Marlett.

First married Fidelia Arnold, daughter of Rev Thomas Arnold and Rebekah LaDow, before 1848, probably in PA or NY. They had 4 known children: George F "Frank" Marlett (1848-1912), Francis "Fanny" Lorrisa Marlett Gage (1849-1877), Royal Norman Marlett (1851-1940), and Martha E Marlett Van Ransselaer (1853-abt1930).

Note: We believe that Fidelia Arnold Marlett died sometime between 1860 and 1861, but have been unable to locate documentation to support in either PA or NY...research is continuing on this by a number of different family researchers.

Second Marriage 12/2/1861 in Mound City, Linn County, Kansas to Arena Snider, daughter of Barton Snider and Elizabeth Baily. They had 3 known children: John Barton "J.B." Marlett (1863-1940), Mary Lydia Marlett (1866-1931), and Olive May Marlett Grubb (1873-1900).

Lowell Cemetery Register notes that Section A Lot 54 N 1/2 was purchased by John Barton Marlett 2/21/1902, with Date of Death and Burial noted as 2/21/1902. Per The Baxter Springs News, published Saturday 3/1/1902 Page 8, Column 4, Death Date is 2/19/1902.
