Son of John Lankford and Martha Brewster; Husband of Hettie Marvin Jaynes.

1979: Lankford Services Will Be on Monday: Sevices for Welby C. Lankford, 87, 403 E. Centennial Ave., who died Thursday in Ball Memorial Hospital, will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Meeks Mortuary. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 2-5 p.m. today and 2-5 p.m. Sunday or prior to services Monday. A native of Deer Lodge, Tenn., Mr. Lankford spent his early years in that area before moving to Muncie as a young man. He was employed at Middletown Gardens prior to his retirement and had earlier worked for Muncie City Schools for a number of years. He was a member of the Parkview Apostolic Church. Surviving are his wife, Hettie Jaynes Lankford; four daughter, Roxie Hawkins, Muncie, Hazel Barett, St. Petersburg, Fla., Lola Mae Haskins, Miniola, Fla., and Jeanie Regenhart, Clovis, N.M.; three sons, John Edward and Michael Lankford, both of Muncie, Donald Lankford, Selma; a brother, Willis Lankford; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The Meeks Mortuary will announce arrangements.
