Approximately 1,000 persons gathered at the little Ortona Cemetery west of Moore Haven last Saturday at 2:30 p.m. for dedication and memorial ceremonies to Billie Bowlegs III.
Some of those attending from Arcadia were Dr. Gordon McSwain, president of the Peace Valley Historical Society who laid a wreath on the grave of the Indian Chief, Col. and Mrs. Read B. Hardin, Mayor and Mrs. P.P. Speer, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kemp, Dr. and Mrs. D. G. Barnett, Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Sharpe, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Sherrouse, Mr. and Mrs. Bohn and Mr. and Mrs. Plank.
