Wirth, Helen (Breen)

Age 83, of Braidwood, IL, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008 peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Born September 28, 1924 in Joliet, IL, to the late James and Helen (nee Friedrich) Breen. Helen was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood, the Senior Club, Joliet Catholic Women's League, Visitation & Aide Society, Friends of the Library, and Homemakers. She had worked for the Joliet Public Schools as a speech therapy aide.

She enjoyed painting, flower arranging, journaling, scrap booking, and sculpting. Her most treasured activity was entertaining her family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Donald J. Wirth Lt. Col. Ret., of Braidwood, whom she married August 15, 1944 in Joliet; four sons, Donald (Davonna) Wirth, Jr., of Wilmington, IL, Stephen (Sarah) Wirth of Custer Park, IL, Mark (Herlinda) Wirth of Wilmington, and Richard (Patricia) Wirth of Bolingbrook, IL; four daughters, Linda (Walter) Fehst of Columbia Heights, MN, Catherine (the late Gerald) Fry of Joliet, Sally Wirth of Wilmington, and Carol (Glen) Gould of Peoria, IL; two brothers, Fred (Shirley) Breen of Joliet and Patrick (Dagmar) Breen of Conover, WI; two sisters, Mary Francis (the late Maurice) O'Neill of Bremerton, WA and Alice (Fred) Zilly of North Aurora, IL; twenty four grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by one brother, Larry Breen.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood, Friday, April 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Danilo Soriano officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Visitation Thursday, April 17, from 4-8 p.m.

Memorial donations to the M.O.M.S. of Wilmington and Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
