Dwight L. Cummings, 49, of Rt. 1, Caneyville, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 1986 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. / He was born May 10, 1936 in Edmonson County, the son of Colbert and Libia Lowe Cunnings. He was a heavy equipment operator for Selfwind Coal Mine. / He is survived by his wife, Freda Marcella Swift Cummings, of Caneyville; his mother, Libia Cummings, of Beaver Dam; one daughter, Vickie Lynn Davis, of Huff; three sons, Dennie Lee and Eddie Dean Cummings, of Caneyville and James Darrin Cummings, of Georgia; one brother, James Cummings, of Sweeden; one sister, Audrey Hogan, of Georgia; five half-brothers and sisters, Oda, Cathleen, Mayfine, Virginia and Gertie; and six grandsons, Jamie, Brian, Jordan, Kenny, Jason and Cavin. / Funeral services were held Jan. 12 at the Rabbit Flat General Baptist Church, Rev. Bernard Skaggs officiating, with burial in the Rabbit Flat Cemetery.
