JAMES "Jamie" MADDOX, SR., 86, of Germantown, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008. Mr. Maddox, former co-owner of Maddox Brothers Cleaners and founder of Maddox Realty Company, was a member of the Memphis Board of Realtors and Life Member of the Million Dollar Sales Club. He was preceded in death by the "love of his life", Grace. He was a decorated Veteran of World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a former president of the Germantown Charity Horse Show, a member of the Germantown Civic Club, and a member and Elder of Germantown Presbyterian Church. His passions were real estate, polo, and golf. He is survived by his son, Jim Maddox of Germantown; his daughter, Ginny Bugg of Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Bonnie Rhodes of Eads, TN. Visitation will be Friday, May 2, from 6-8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, in the Chapel of Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar, with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Memphis Union Mission or a charity of the donor's choice.
