Myrtle A. Black


Mrs. Myrtle A. Black, 70, of 826 Pennsylvania Avenue, Huntingdon, died at 3:15 a.m. Friday, July 16, 1976 in J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, where she had been a patient since Wednesday, July 14. She had been in failing health for four years.


Born Jan. 13, 1906 in Mapleton Depot, she was a daughter of Bruce and Naomi (Brodbeck) Querry. She was married to Irvin C. Black on June 4, 1924 in a ceremony performed by the Rev. M.L. Black in Huntingdon.


Her husband survives along with a son, A. Rudy Black of Huntingdon, and four grandchildren.


Surviving brothers and sisters are Arthur Querry, Huntingdon; Jacob Querry, Lewistown; Mrs. Jack (Grace) Johnson, McVeytown; Mrs. Hugh (Naomi) Brough, Lewistown, R.D.; Mrs. Helen V. Wolfe, Huntingdon, and Mrs. Bernard A. (Claire) Park, Cassville. Two brothers preceded her in death.


Mrs. Black attended the Emmanuel Bible Church, Huntingdon R.D.1. She had resided in Huntingdon since 1926.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 18 from Brown's funeral home, Huntingdon. The Rev. Steven E. Crile will officiate and burial will be made in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens.


Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday and on Sunday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
