"Elmer F. Nott, 82, of Havensville, passed away at his home Monday, January 31, after a lingering illness. He was born January 11, 1875, in Missouri and spent most of his life on a farm near Soldier before moving to Havensville a year ago.

He is survived by his wife, Maude of the home; three daughters; Mrs. Lila Dodds of Havensville, Mrs. Sylvia Butler of Topeka and Mrs. Gladys Beach of Wellsville; five sons, Clarence Nott of Wetmore, Albert of Citrus Heights, Calif., Paul of Circleville, Russell of Holton and Lawrence of Soldier; a brother, Alba Nott, of Soldier; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Hickman of Holton and 39 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment was in Mount Olive cemetery on Highway 16 west of Holton." The Onaga Herald (Onaga, Kansas), January 24, 1957
