Dora "Granny" Jordan, 92, of Adonijah, Lizemores, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at the home of her granddaughter, Norma Johnson, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 21, 1915, in Clay County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Robert and Lula Elliott Sizemore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herderson Ramsey, and husband, Sam Jordan; her son, Harold Sizemore; her brothers, Elmer and Evans Sizemore; her sister, Mattie King; and a special son-in-law, Graden Pritt, who gave her the name "Granny"; a great-grandson, Matthew Pritt; and a great-great-granddaughter, Maddie Ruggieri.

She was a lifelong member of the Laurel Fork Missionary Baptist Church. Granny spent many summers at the Carbide Camp cooking. Granny's favorite hobby was sewing.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan R. Pritt of Adonijah; a sister, Dorothea; daughter-in-law, Glenna Sizemore of Summersville; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

The service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Laurel Fork Missionary Baptist Church, Lizemores, with the Rev. Earl Elliott and the Rev. B.J. Evans officiating. Burial will follow at the Pritt Family Cemetery at Adonijah.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Pennington Funeral Home Chapel at 331 Main St., Gauley Bridge, W.Va.
