He was born in Southington, the son of the late Jozef and Caroline Folcyk. He lived in Southington for a number of years, owner of the Folcik Brothers Bakery with his wife Helen, before moving to Plainville in 1949 where they owned and operated Folcik's Market and Package Store on North Washington Street for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Plainville AARP 4146, tutored in the Plainville School system and was a past member of the Southington Polish Falcons.
He is survived by his five children and their spouses, Barbara and Richard Quinby, of Avon Park, Fla., John and Alexandrina (Shandra) Folcik, of Southington, Peter and Lissette Folcik, of Tampa, Fla., Charles and Patricia Folcik, of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Alexendra (Cookie) and Douglas Capsalors, of Bristol; seven grandchildren, Beth Andresen (Jon), Richard Quinby (Lisa), John Mark Folcik (Kathy), Melissa Whelan (Bill), Alexander Folcik, Susannah Folcik, and Adam Fox (Robin); and three great-grandchildren, William, Kelsey and Catherine Whelan; his sister, Genevieve Repczynski, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; his brother-in-law, Lucian Repczynski, of Farmington; along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Kaminski) Folcik; and several brothers and sisters.
Burial followed in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington.
