BERT ALLENDER TAKEN BY DEATH
Father of Mrs. Gladys Bay Dies in Helmsburg-Funeral Tuesday.
Bert M. Allender, 67, died Saturday at his home in Helmsburg. He had been ill for two years. He was the father of Mrs. Gladys Bay, 824 Jackson street, and a brother of Mrs. Nettie Allison and Mrs. Chloe Ford of this city.
Mr. Allender was born April 6, 1884, in Brown county, to Thomas H. and Elizabeth Turner Allender. He was married Mar. 18, 1905, in Brown county to Miss Nettie A. Barnes, who survives. He had been a farmer most of his life.
Besides the wife he is survived by three sons, Thomas and Richard Allender of Trevlac and Reed Allender of Morgantown; 4 daughters, Mrs. Bay, Mrs. Grace Rhoades of Morgantown, Mrs. Bernice Pruzinsky of Bridgeport, Conn., and Mrs. Helen Limp of Franklin; three brothers, Omer Allender of Nashville, Cecil Allender of Bloomington and Dan Allender of Camby; three sisters, Mrs. Allison, Mrs. Ford and Mrs. Hazel Voland of Nashville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Greasy Creek church. Burial will be made at Bean Bloosom cemetery. The casket is open at the residence. The Bond funeral home of Nashville has charge of arrangements.

Bert Allender Rites Held Thursday
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 18 for Mr. Bert Mitchell Allender, 67, prominent Brown County farmer, who passed away at his home near Helmsburg on Saturday, March 15.
Born April 6, 1884, in Brown County, he was the son of Thomas H. and Elizabeth Turner Allender. He was married to Nettie Barnes March 18, 1905, to which union was born three sons and four daughters, who survive him.
Services were held at Greasy Creek Church with the Rev. Jones, of Indianapolis, in charge. Burial was at Bean Blossom with the Bond Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Surviving with the wife, Nettie, are three sons, Thomas Allender and Richard Allender, Trevlac, and Reed Allender, Morgantown; four daughters, Grace Rhodes, Route 2, Morgantown; Gladys Bay, Columbus, Ind.; Bernice Pruzinsky, of Bridgeport, Conn., and Helen Limp, Franklin, Ind.; three brothers, Omar Allender, Nashville; Cecil Allender, Route 1, Bloomington, and Dan Allender, Camby, Ind.; three sisters, Hazel Voladn, Nashville; Nettie Allison, and Chloe Ford, both of Columbus. Seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
