Leslie Wayne Mims was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on Wednesday November 16,1949 to the late Carl Mims and Dorothy Mae George Mims. He departed this life on Wednesday February 21, 2024 at Southgate Living Center in Caruthersville, Missouri at the age of 74 years, 3 months, and 5 days. Leslie loved working at the Cotton Boll Sheltered Workshop in Kennett, Missouri and attended Ely Baptist Church in Kennett. 


His survivors include: Two sisters, Sharon Mims Nolan and husband Harold of Caruthersville, Missouri and Linda Mims Lewis and husband Billie of Midlothian, Virginia; Four brothers, Tommy Mims of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Steven Mims and wife Jeanna and Christopher Mims all of Dexter, Missouri, and Justin Mims of Wappapello, Missouri; Five nephews, John Alan Mims, Bradley Scott Mims, Matthew Lewis, Anthony Nolan, and Shane Mims; Seven Nieces, Debralynn Mims, Crystal Lewis Mullins, Gail Nolan Shelton, Amber Mims, Shannon Mims, Stephanie Mims Majors, and Ashley Mims. Several great nieces and great nephews.  


Leslie was preceded in death by: his parents, one sister, Lana Sue Mims Robinson and two brothers William Calvin Mims and John Mims.


Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Monday, February 26, 2024 at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM Monday, February 26, 2024 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden. Interment will be in Pine City Cemetery in Holcomb, Missouri.
