Ben Dempsey, Sr., 60, died Sunday at his home in College Heights,north of Eldorado.
He is survived by his wife Nellie and five children: Ralph and Ben Dempsey, Jr., of Eldorado, Glen Dempsey of St. Louis, Mrs. Vivian Purcell of East St. Louis and Mrs. Gladys Harrelson of Evansville, Ind.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Baker of Jasonville, Ind. and Mrs. Lila Hanger of Sullivan, Ind.
The body has been returned to the residence by the Martin funeral home, where the funeral will be held Tursday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. V. B. Rains will officiate, assisted by Rev. John E. Lamb. Burial will be in Cottage Grove cemetery.
