Mr. Jack Nathan Stafford, age 72, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, April 27, 2008 in the Christus St. Michael Health System, Texas.
He was born to James Samuel and Bertha May Chandler Stafford at Dierks, Arkansas, on February 6, 1936. He worked as a logger in Oregon, a superintendent of Campell Brothers Construction in the Dallas area, and was a farmer and rancher for the past 36 years in the West Otis Community. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, working cattle, and barbequing for family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Cecil Stafford.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Smith Stafford of De Queen, three sons and daughters-in-law, Stacy and Iva Gail Stafford of Harrell, Ark.; Michael and Kathy Baker of Longview, Texas, and Kenny Baker of Avery, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lydia and Jim Landrum and Rallye Erwin all of Terrell, Texas, four brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis and Pat Stafford of Eagletown, Okla.; Luther and Bobbie Stafford of De Queen, Willis "Bump" Stafford of Prineville, Oregon, and Joe and Nancy Stafford of De Queen, thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandson, and a special friend and neighbor, Dan, and his wife Evelyn Ford of De Queen, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2008 in the West Otis Cemetery with Rev. Wesley Blankenship and Rev. J. L. Walker officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
