LaFayette Village Fire Department Mascot from 1997-2004.

Halligan – whose record had been 'spotless'; was forced to retire after nine years of dedicated service with the Lafayette Village fire station.
The city of Fayetteville's annexation forced this K-9 into early retirement. It is their policy to not allow animals at stations, stating liability issues.
This dalmation had been coming to the fire station since he was just a pup. He also visited several local schools, receiving many letters and cards of thanks from the children and staff.
The dedication he had, showed when the alarm sounded; as he was normally the first one in the truck and never left his seat during the fighting of a fire.
Halligan, never quite adjusted to his retirement and later developed high blood pressure.
This loyal, good natured firedog, passed quietly in his sleep – and is sadly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Sponsorship of this memorial in honor of owner/firefighter Lt. F. Newcomb.
